Training Session Cancellations/

inclement weather Policy

 

 

 

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Training sessions may be cancelled by MLU for the following reasons,

  1. If the weather is considered dangerous to train in, i.e. Thunderstorms, lightening or extreme temperatures of heat, cold, ice, snow etc.
  2. If training field conditions are deemed not suitable for practice, i.e. Major amounts of water remaining on turf, mud, or general disrepair that would make training unsuitable or dangerous.

 

TIMING OF CANCELLATIONS

Every effort is made to communicate changes to training sessions, to those involved in a timely manner with as little inconvenience to players, parents and coaches as possible. As a general rule we try to make a decision on cancellations as early as we can by looking at the weather predictions, usually not later than 3:00pm of that day, as to give coaches time to contact there team members.

A.     Exceptions: If the weather turns for the worst during sessions or it      arrives late and training is already in session, MLU will cancel at that time. We will then contact coaches whose schedules would be affected and notify them of the cancellation.

 

WHO MAKES THE DECISION?

tHE DIRECTOR OF FIELDS AND FACILITIES WILL ACCESS THE FIELD CONDITIONS AND DETERMINE WHETHER ON NOT FIELDS ARE SAFE TO USE, AND USE OF THEM WILL NOT DAMAGE THE FIELDS.

There are cases where the weather may be inclement and training sessions will still be held; yet the conditions may not be suitable for our youngest players. In this case, Director of Recreational soccer, and Training director will make the decision.

 

 

HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED?

 

Once a decision has been made, the following procedures will take place to ensure clear and swift communication.

  1. There will be a posting on the web page which you can find at www.mlunited.org, , there at the top of the page will be a notice in the scrolling marquee as to the training session status and cancellations, and make up dates.
  2. There will be a voice message left on the voice messaging system at the club phone number, 856-778-9549, press 5 for training updates and cancellations.
  3. The trainer will notify the contact person for the travel team, and the age group coordinator for recreational teams.
  4. It is up to the coaches of individual teams to determine how they will notify members of their teams.

 

IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL A TRAINING SESSION

 

Coaches if you need to cancel a training session, please give us 24 hours prior notification. We require our trainers to give 24 hours prior notice. Notify us by email at mluadmin@comcast.net or call and leave a message at 856-778-9549 press 5, and leave a message.

If you have an emergency and need to cancel at the last minute, we suggest you call the trainer directly and notify us at the phone number above or email us at mluadmin@comcast.net.

 

Please pass this information on to your players and parents and set-up a cancellation notification policy of your own for your individual teams, i.e. They should check the website or call you or visa versa.
