Sponsorship Program

Mount Laurel United Soccer Association "Where soccer is fun!"

Mount Laurel United Soccer is dedicated to developing youth soccer players from three to eighteen years of age. The development mission is implemented through four programs including, the Youth Development Program, Recreation Soccer Program, Travel Soccer Program and TOPSoccer Program. These programs are directed by a dedicated board of volunteer parents.

All of the programs are coached using a  "game based approach" in which skills are developed through instructive, fun-filled games. Players practice skills through creative games  versus conventional teaching based on lining up, standing around and waiting to repeat an exercise. This approach allows more activity for all participants, or to use a popular phrase " more touches on the ball".

The Youth Development Program

The Youth Development program is for Mt. Laurel's youngest players, ages 3 to 5. MLU is one of the only soccer clubs in the area to offer a program for the youngest players. These players meet in a group setting and play games with a soccer ball.  The MLU professional training staff oversee this program.

Recreation Soccer Program

The Recreation Soccer Program is for Mt. Laurel residents ages 6 to 19. Teams are coached by parent volunteers with the assistance of the MLU professional training staff.

Travel Soccer Program

The Travel soccer program is an open program for all area youth ages 7 to 18. Each team is coached by a state-licensed parent volunteer. Travel teams are provided the opportunity to train with a professional trainer as the coach sees fit.

TOPSoccer Program

The Outreach Program for Soccer is more familiarly called the TOPSoccer Program. It is a team placement program for young athletes with mental or physical disabilities. It is organized by MLU volunteers, who recruit local youth players to become soccer "buddies" to the participants. The "buddies" perform a satisfying community based program requirements. The program presents the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to boys and girls, age 8 to 14.

Tournaments

The Columbus Day Tournament is hosted annually. The Columbus Day Tournament draws over 150 teams from the Mid-Atlantic region, New York and Connecticut. Many team and their families travel to Mt. Laurel, stay the evening at local hotels, and enjoy local dining and entertainment while participating in the tournament.
