Age definitions for the Fall 2011- Spring 2012 Recreation Soccer Year The age group calendar year is set by US Youth Soccer. The age group divisions for the calendar year are set by the age your player is as of July 31st, 2011. Age group eligibility holds for the fall and spring season. If your player celebrates a birth day within the calendar year it does not change the age group your player is eligible to play in for that calendar year. Your player is eligible for the same age group for the fall and spring season. You must register your player by age group definition. The "U" before the age, stands for "under". For example, Under 12 means your player was under the age of 12 by the cut- off date, of July 31st, 2011.
Mount
Laurel United Soccer has adopted two new policies for children that wish to
play in a different age group than his or her birth date allows. How to request that your player be moved up Please register your player online and complete the registration process. Send an email to admin@comcast.net requesting a transfer. We will review the information provided and check that your player meets the criteria to be moved up and will then transfer your player. This policy is for recreation soccer only. Players playing up at u7 are not eligible for u8 travel soccer tryouts in the spring. Travel soccer requires that players abide by the age group definition and that a birth certificate be presented. *The U18 age bracket is for high school players, that will be attending high school in the fall 2011/spring 2012 season. Players that have graduated or no longer attend high school are not eligible to register for this age group. We combine age groups to form teams and field enough teams to schedule inter-division play. In the fall, the u7 and u8 age groups usually have adequate registrations to field separate u7 and u8 teams, in the spring they are most often combined. We reserve the option to combine these age groups in order to field teams. The u9 age group is combined with u10, u11 is combined with u12 , u13 is combined with u14.

Coaches,
This is a reminder about the referees that are out during your games.
1. The referee is the ULTIMATE authority to the game.
- This means that they are in charge of the field! They are the ones to start
the game, stop the game, keep time, make the calls, etc. We will not tolerate a
coach who decides that they are going to usurp a ref during the game. Remember
that coaching is a privilege, not a right!
2. Respect the referees!
- This goes for coaches first! Then your players will follow in your footsteps!
I know that some of these refs are young and they are still learning, but please
teach your players to respect the authority that is on the field by being the
example first! If you have a concern or issue with the ref, please speak to them
away from all the players during one of the breaks in the game. In no way should
you question the referee with parents or players around. Please help by giving
constructive criticism as if this was your own child. We work hard to get refs
to come out to the games, let's not berate them before they have even begun!
3. If you have any problems or concerns with a referee, please send me an email
with that referee's name. If you don't know their name, send me the time and
location of your game and I will find out who it was. I will then forward your
concerns on to the referee assignor and have him instruct the ref with regard to
the incident.
4. For the younger ages, we are now past the 4th week of the season. NO coaches
should be on the field during the game. Please now stand on the sidelines and
coach your games. Give the kids the opportunity to learn without you out there
on the field.
Remember that this is RECREATION soccer and it is supposed to be fun and a
learning experience for all involved! This includes our referees as well as
players, coaches and parents!
Thank you!

Names of BOTH teams
Time, field and age group.
For example: Game of Saturday 3/26 between MLU 10 and MLU 11 at Trotters 3,
8:00, U-12 has been postponed. If the game is postponed, please go through Dave
