     July 25-29, 2011

 • 10-18 year old boys & girls, Hartford School, Hartford Road, Mt. Laurel

 • 6 hours per day

A more advanced camp for serious players which focuses on game related techniques, tactical development and coached match play.

The MLU full day camp is designed for the serious younger travel player. The player’s cognitive ability and physical maturity have reached the point where they are capable of executing most of the skills essential to playing the game of soccer. Technical skill with the ball is the foundation of the strong player and this is the age that a serious player must develop and hone these skills. It is important that players are correctly instructed on proper technique and that poor habits are eliminated, before those habits become too ingrained. The goal is to execute proper technique under pressure and with speed.

It is also the time to speed up decision-making and reaction time within the game. All players are taught small group tactics and the essentials of team play. They will learn the principles of attack and defense in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 situations. Soccer is a team sport, but a player must be confident in their individual abilities and knowledge of the game to be a successful team player.

Daily Topics to include:

Individual Technical Skills:

  • Fast Footwork, Passing, Shooting, Heading & Receiving under Pressure
  • Combination Plays, Creativity with the Ball
  • Tactical and Team Play:

A. Camp venue and directions to be determined and announced here.

Shorts, t shirt and sneakers / cleats. All children MUST wear shin guards. Players should also bring a soccer ball (marked with their name on it). We recommend that a sweater and sweat pants are packed just in case of cold weather or rain. We recommend a spare t-shirt in case it rains.

Q: What is the check in / out procedure?

When you arrive, please check in with the coaches. If someone other than a parent is collecting the player, or the player is carpooling with another player, please make us aware of this.

We must check each player out of camp. We ask that parents park and come to the bleacher / tent and check out their son/daughter.

Q: What does my child need to bring to camp?

Lots of energy! The camp is very active and we encourage maximum participation. Please bring a small mid morning snack and plenty to drink for half day campers. and a proper lunch for full day campers. Soda or caffeinated drinks are not recommended.

Q: Are there bathroom facilities at the camp?

Absolutely! We take a mid morning break (10:30am) please provide them with a snack and beverage.

Q: What happens if it rains when the camp is scheduled at Hartford School ?

In the case of adverse weather (thunder, lightening, heavy rain) we will make the decision to move indoor. Pick up will be from the entrance to Hartford School in this case.

Q: Are the children supervised at all times?

Yes. The safety and well being of your children is the number one priority and off the field they are under the constant direction of our coaches. During registration we asked for an emergency contact number for all parents and will contact you immediately should anything occur.

Q: What if my child leaves something at the field?

We encourage all players – regardless of age to be responsible for their own items. Any unclaimed items will be collected by the coaches and bought the next day to camp. In the event the player does not return, or it is Friday, contact the coaches on the numbers below. Please do not bring valuable items to camp.

Q: What if I am late to pick up or early for drop off?

Coaches will be on site by 1/2 hour before camp starts for set up. You may drop off at this time; however the camp will not start until 9am. In the event of delay picking up your child, please call us on 609-784-5575 if you anticipate that you will be more 15minutes late.
