Baltimore Mania Tournament, March 19 & 20, 2011

MLU Blast won the Baltimore Mania Tournament , March 19 & 20, 2011- tied 2 games

                         with 1-1 - won the semi final 1 - 0 - then tied the final 0-0 but won it on PK's

The Blast played in the MSSL Spring Challenge and won the  
Championship. They went 4-0-1 and let in two goals in five games

2008 FC DELCO  Memorial Day Tournament Results

MLU Blast girls, Premier flight Champions! The Blast won their final game on Monday, at the nationally recognized FC DELCO Players Cup tournament. The girls gave up 1 goal in 5 games played over the weekend. The Blast girls, came out of the the semi-finals over the WCUSC Predators 1-0 and flew through the finals over Lehigh Valley Utd. 96 in a 1-0 game. Way to go Blast.

JAGUARS

                                                                            2010 WAGS Tournament

Competing in the 2010 WAGS Tournament  this past weekend in Fairfax, Virginia the  MLU Jaguars(U13 Girls) made it all the way to the finals before losing their fifth and final match of the weekend to Ashburn, VA. Playing in the top-flight of the tournament the Jaguars advanced to the tournament semi-finals by finishing in first place during bracket play. The Jaguars opened the tournament by playing to a 0- 0 drawing with the number one ranked team from Maryland. In their second match the Jaguars defeated the D'Feeters SC from Dallas,  Texas by a score of 1-0. On Sunday morning the Jaguars finished bracket play by defeating the Illinois State Champs by a score of  2-1.  In the semi-finals of the tournament the Jaguars won an exciting match by defeating the Massapequa Crush from New York. With the score tied 1-1 after overtime the Jaguars won the match by out scoring the Crush, 4-2 in penalty kicks. In the finals, the Jaguars lost an extremely well-played game to Ashburn, Virginia by a score of 1-0. Despite the defeat the Jaguars played very well throughout the tournament and proved to be great representatives of  MLU soccer.

Jefferson Cup 2010 Tournament results

The MLU Jaguars, U12 Girls, returned home from the Jefferson Cup tournament in Richmond, Virginia.  On their way to the championship the Jaguars opened the tournament on Saturday by defeating the East Meadow (NY) Explosion and Lighthouse SC Fire (PA) by identical results of 2-0. The Jaguars completed bracket play on Sunday morning by defeating the ASA Extreme from Georgia by a result of 3-0.  The Jaguars wrapped up their successful weekend of play by defeating the Scorpions SC Elite (MA) 3-1 in the championship match. Throughout the weekend the Jaguars displayed a great team effort, playing a tenacious defense and an efficient  possession oriented attack that led to many scoring opportunities.

WAGS ( Washington Area Girls Soccer) Tournament News

2011

The U-12 Flash are the Olympic Division Champions of the SJGSL. The team went undefeated this season posting a 7-0-3 record in league play while accumulating a +13 goal differential and posting 5 shutouts.  Great job Flash!!!!

2010

The Flash recorded Championship wins at the Voorhees Memorial
Day, JAGS Invitational, Lititz Summer Showcase and a 2nd place finish at the
Ocean Cup to complete an awesome summer tournament schedule!  In 15 games
spanning 4 tournaments the Flash only allowed 2 goals against while battling
some of the top teams in NJ, PA, DE and NY.  Great Job FLASH!

2008 MLU Columbus Day Tournament "Champions" 2-0-1CONGRATULATIONS FLASH!!!  The U-11 Flash racked up another tournament win
going 3-0-0 with 3 shutouts in the top bracket of the Lititz Summer
Showcase.

MLU Barcelona U-16 Boys

 2010

MLU Barcelona Wins Columbia Invitational!

MLU Barcelona just won our third tournament in a row this spring winning the championship of the Elite Division of the 2010 Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Tournament.  After winning our bracket on Saturday by defeating Battle of Monmouth (NJ) and Arsenal FC (PAW), we tied the Baltimore Bays (MD) Sunday. The team, with 12 healthy players, jumped to a 2-0 lead and proceeded to defeat the Freestate Eagles (MD) 2-1 in the championship Monday.

MLU Barcelona recently won the MAPS 2010 Spring Challenge in March while in the process of joining MLU from the Medford Strikers under Coach Janice Hughes.  After officially joining MLU on April 1^st, 2010, the team immediately won the MSSL 2010 Spring College Showcase in early April.

In the US Club Soccer championships, Barcelona lost their first game to eventual NJ State Champion Marlboro SA, but has progressed through numerous rounds to the finals of the Consolation bracket next week.

The team is trained and coached by current Newman University Men’s Head Soccer Coach and former KIXX Coach and All-Star player Kevin Sloan.

The MLU Galaxy U-12 Boys won 1st place in their bracket at the TBAA Tournament over this past weekend, going 2-1-0.

The U11B Gladiators played in the 2010 Endless Summer tournament

this weekend. It was their 11v11 debut.

They were playing up one year with the U12 age group.

They earned a first place finish by beating their 1^st two opponents

 5-0 and 4-1 and tying their last opponent 3-3.
